Dark Sky CD Launch

We have been having a wonderful time playing our Dark Sky CD launch gigs! First up was at Jazz Lab in Melbourne on Feb 10, courtesy of Martin Jackon and the Melbourne Jazz Co-op. It was such a pleasure to play for a warm and enthusiastic crowd of friends and supporters, and in a beautiful room. Clear sight lines to the stage from everywhere, a good piano, good acoustics, and of course the band took advantage of being in the big smoke for the weekend to hear some great local music and enjoy some high quality Melbourne cuisine.

After road testing the show down south :-) we played at the Brisbane Jazz Club Feb 22 to a packed house. We were joined by trumpeter Mal Wood for two numbers, one being Murphy's Love that he played so beautifully on the recording. And as a special treat, Sharney Russell sat in with a swinging version of Our Love is Here to Stay. A great night!

We were welcomed by the Lismore Jazz Society on March 3 for a northern NSW launch. The LJS puts on only one gig a month, so we are grateful for the invitation to be part of such an exclusive roster of quality acts. Again we enjoyed a warm reception and lots of positive feedback about the show and the CD.

Other shows for the year so far are the Murwillimbah Art Trail (May 19), Qld Conservatorium (July 31) and JMI (Sept 19). The CD is for sale in hard copy from us, or via download from Bandcamp:
