The Piano Mill


I am delighted to be premiering a new piece at the annual Piano Mill, Sun April 1, 2018. The Piano Mill is a purpose built structure housing 16 old upright pianos, 2 of them unplayable. A joint brainstorm dreamed up by new music gurus Erik Griswold and Vanessa Tomlinson, architect Bruce Wolfe and his wife Jocelyn, the day of new and experimental music events in the northern NSW hinterland is a stimulating, creative and very enjoyable way to spend Easter Sunday. “Mill Music” is a departure from my usual melody-and-chords compositional practice. It has challenged me to think beyond my usual MO and hear a different set of sounds in my head.
