What a night! I was really honoured to have been named a Finalist in the first annual round of the Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA), and to have been there in the room for this great celebration of women's contributions to the music industry.

12/10/2018 - The Year of the Big Band

Thanks to a semester of study leave from my job at the Queensland Con, I have been launched into the exciting world of big band arranging. Multi-instrumentalist Diana Tolmie got me pointed in the right direction by requesting an extended work for large jazz ensemble with herself as soloist

There have been 5 performances of my new work, Flora australiae, written for wind multi-instrumentalist, Diana Tolmie over the past 2 months. It started with a wonderful evening of new and Brisbane-original music by EMO at the Brisbane International Jazz Festival (May 31)

I am looking forward to several performances this year of a suite for big band and saxophone soloist that I am currently writing. This is a collaborative project between myself and multi-instrumentalist, Diana Tolmie.

01/04/2018 - The Piano Mill

I am delighted to be premiering a new piece at the annual Piano Mill, Sun April 1, 2018. The Piano Mill is a purpose built structure housing 16 old upright pianos, 2 of them unplayable.

15/01/2018 - Wild Silk Strings Project CD

Wild Silk Strings Project recorded the tracks for their first CD in Dec. 2017, and the mixing and mastering has been underway since the New Year.
